Dr. Hoskinson proudly offers patients in the Scotia, Schenectady and Glenville areas of New York with high quality orthodontic care. Your oral health is important to us, and we understand that every patient is different, that is why Dr. Hoskinson takes time to get to know each patient’s needs.
I feel privileged being a part of the wonderful profession of orthodontics and practicing in my hometown of Scotia. My work allows me to give patients the gift of a healthy, beautiful and confident smile. This is the foundation for my office mission; creating smiles for a lifetime. The smiles we create are not only beautiful; they are life changing.
Making patients feel good about themselves has a tremendously positive influence on their entire life. As an orthodontist, I have enjoyed and feel so fortunate to have gotten to know so many wonderful, unique patients and their families, friends and my colleagues. I am so appreciative and honored that my patients have placed their confidence my staff and myself.
I am committed to ongoing continuing education; frequently updating my knowledge and orthodontic techniques. I have recently attended the Northeast Society of Orthodontist annual meeting. Monthly, I attend Capital District Continuum for Advanced Dental Education meetings. I am scheduled to attend several continuing education courses throughout the year.
I am a lifetime resident of Scotia and take pride in being a part of the Scotia business community, helping support local events such as Relay for Life and Glenville Oktoberfest. I am a longstanding Scotia Rotarian and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship award.
My greatest pleasure is spending time with my wife, Kathy, four daughters and three Labradors. My daughters are slowly leaving the nest and have chosen to live in some beautiful areas of the country; California, Philadelphia and Jackson Hole. Look at my office Facebook as time to time I post pictures of the majestic scenery from the visits to my daughters. In my free time I am often “up North”, enjoying the Adirondacks- skiing, hiking, boating. I can’t say I am a golfer, but do enjoy getting out on the greens time to time.
More than any dental specialty, orthodontics is a team effort involving parents, patients, orthodontists and staff. Many children have complex facial and dental issues that go beyond simple alignment of the front teeth. This demands a thorough knowledge of facial growth and development that can only be achieved by extensive education and specialized training. Board-certified orthodontists have undergone extensive specialized training in University affiliated postgraduate residencies, which is followed by certifying board examinations through the American Board of Orthodontics.

This is a SPECIAL ALERT:
The NYS Dental Association has closely monitored all developments with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
As we are aware the COVID-19 situation in New York is one of the most serious in the nation. At this time it is highly recommended that dental offices only provide emergency care for our patients; and close for a minimum of 3 weeks. As a professional office we want to be responsible and slow the spread of COVID-19. We will follow this urgent recommendation- the office will be closed for patient care starting Wednesday 3/18/2020. As of now the office plans to tentatively reopen 4/13/2020. Dr. Hoskinson will be available to see emergency patients – a patient experiencing discomfort. The office will reach out to our patients and reschedule all appointments once we know an exact date for reopening.
This is an extremely fluid, unprecedented event in our country. We are being faced with many unknowns and personal challenges at this time.
Happy & Healthy Wishes to all,
