At Hoskinson Orthodontics our number one priority is providing each patient with the best care based on the individual needs of those patients. Though our practice is located in Scotia we happily offer care to patients in the Schenectady, Amsterdam and Glenville areas of New York. Although we take pride in providing patients with beautiful smiles, our main goal is to provide patients with a healthy smile. Sometimes this includes treatments such as orthognathic surgery to correct any jaw problems.
Orthognathic surgery is more commonly known as jaw surgery, which treats abnormalities of facial bones, specifically the jaws and the teeth. Typically these issues cause difficulties with chewing, talking, sleeping and other routine activities. Orthognathic surgery corrects such issues in conjunction with orthodontic treatment to not only provide patients with a beautiful smile, but a healthy smile as well.
Dr. Hoskinson and his amazing team use the latest in digital imaging technology to demonstrate the overall functional and aesthetic benefits of orthognathic surgery. There are so many benefits to computerized treatment planning including:
We use state of the art materials to provide stability, strength and predictability to your treatment. Using these technology allow for a more efficient and effective form of care with a faster recovery time.
Not every patient is a candidate for orthognathic surgery and it may be unnecessary for certain orthodontic issues. With all of the advancements within the orthodontic field it is more often the case that most orthodontic problems can be treated with a more mild solution. If you think you may be a candidate for jaw surgery we encourage you to contact our Scotia office to set up a consultation. We hope to see you in the office soon!
This is a SPECIAL ALERT:
The NYS Dental Association has closely monitored all developments with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
As we are aware the COVID-19 situation in New York is one of the most serious in the nation. At this time it is highly recommended that dental offices only provide emergency care for our patients; and close for a minimum of 3 weeks. As a professional office we want to be responsible and slow the spread of COVID-19. We will follow this urgent recommendation- the office will be closed for patient care starting Wednesday 3/18/2020. As of now the office plans to tentatively reopen 4/13/2020. Dr. Hoskinson will be available to see emergency patients – a patient experiencing discomfort. The office will reach out to our patients and reschedule all appointments once we know an exact date for reopening.
This is an extremely fluid, unprecedented event in our country. We are being faced with many unknowns and personal challenges at this time.
Happy & Healthy Wishes to all,
